Health Care Reform: The Clock is Ticking

Our Health Care debate tears at the core of American consciousness. The issue has pitted Democrats and Republicans against one another and divided a nation.

Are we fearful of losing both private and employer sponsored health insurance plans or is it simply the fear of the unknown? As the rhetoric between the political parties, heats up individual health insurance cost continue to rise.

Politics in Washington may never be the same with both parties deciding to leverage their political ideology by adhering to a policy of voting strict party partisanship. In order for us to understand the debate, we must know what is in the bill.

As a result, in this article we are providing a short list of bullet points from a well-respected Republican organization next week a well-respected Democratic organization.

The list that follows is provided by www.freerepublic.com they put together a plan English account of the president’s health care proposal or government sponsored medical insurance 101.

  • Every person will be issued a National ID Health card.
  • All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.
  • The “Health care choices Commissioner” will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None.
  • A government committee will decide what treatment you get (there will be no appeal process).
  • Your health care will be rationed.
  • Government will consult and instruct regarding living wills, durable powers of attorney etc, mandatory.
  • Any NON-RESIDENT alien is exempt from individual taxes (Americans will pay for them)
  • Officers and employees of government health care bureaucracy will have access to All American personal and financial records.

Some believe that “The truth lies somewhere in the middle.” However,  the Health Care Reform bill will undoubtedly undergo significant changes. The truth is government sponsored health insurance may never become law.

I feel there should be some type of health care reform but making Americans pay for noncitizens aliens is wrong and something different should be brainstormed. However, it does need to start somewhere.

  7. short-term insurance plans are much easier to purchase. The implementation of the coverage could begin almost immediately. There is a disadvantage to choosing such plans, though. When the term ends, there is a need to re-qualify. That means you have to purchase the health care insurance product again or find other offerings.

  8. Your Medicare is safe and stronger with health insurance reform. Reform is slated to improve the long-term financial health of Medicare; ensure better health care coordination; eliminate waste and unnecessary subsidies to some Medicare Advantage plans; and help to close the Medicare “doughnut” hole to make prescription drugs more affordable for seniors.

  9. obama’s health care plan is great. we need health care for everyone!

health-quotes.isgreat.org – my family have this wellness insurance plan. It will be affordable and has fine protection for dental issues.

  12. I’m afraid the fact that you happen to be suffering from hypertension means that any health care insurance carrier would either decline you or charge you a higher rate. A single thing you might glimpse into is COBRA. Should you are on your spouse’s employer-sponsored plan, a divorce (not a separation) is regarded a COBRA qualifying event. Once you’re “kicked” off the plan, AFTER the divorce decree is final, your spouse’s benefits administrator or insurance packages plan must send you a COBRA notification. Protection can last for up to 36 months. It’s not cheap, however the idea of cheap, very good wellness insurance is a myth, I’m afraid. Either you shell out at the doctor’s office (higher copays and coinsurance), or you pay a higher monthly premium.

  28. It is unbelievable that the cost of health insurance rises at the current rate. I have individual coverage, and my rates have increased over 30% in each of the last 2 years. And I am not including a change in age group. That will be coming next year as I turn 35. This rate of cost increases is unsustainable. What’s going to happen to people who make less than I do? (And are typically younger, and who typically make less money.) They will start to drop off of those who are insured. And the cycle continues. Does the federal health care reform change any of this? For me, it’s only a matter of time before I either have to drop off the roles of the insured, or change my lifestyle completely by selling my house, or worse. Maybe I’ll have to move to Canada. Opinions?

  42. Obama’s policies are terrible, and his administration is in over their heads. He’s spending us into an abyss and he has no knowledge of economics.

  43. You right wing d u n c es don’t yet get that India is no longer a backwater, it is a force to be reckoned with (IT guys: where have your jobs gone?). They are as deserving of a top-flight summit as Russia or China are. By starting the good-will train early, we help ensure that India links with us, as opposed to Europe (read: Russia) or China.

  44. Isaura Bey says:

Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality. What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.

  45. Dione Grabau says:

Obama – Here is a man with the ego the size of the U.S. deficit. He can’t get the attention he requires at home anymore since he has a thought the american people do not understand what he is trying to do, and that is why the country is rejecting his agenda. Now he goes to India and they roll out the red carpet for mr. Obamahead and he thinks it is Berlin before the election. Maybe he needs to stay over there since he is so well thought of, or is it the money he is leaving behind they are so glad to see, not him.

  46. After being inadvertently hit with the opposing player’s elbow in the lip when playing basketball along with family and friends, our President gotten TWELVE stitches currently administered by the White House Medical Unit. They were done in the doctor’s office located on the ground floor in the White House.I wish he will take his offense to Congress. He has been playing defense against the Republicans for two years. I voted for him mainly because I believed he had game.
